Sergey Guryakov
CX/UX/Product Design
I design for environments where a screen has to survive medical, legal, and accessibility review before anyone uses it. For 15+ years that has meant pharma brands, health tech products, and federal properties, and it shaped how I work: design rationale gets written down, compliance is part of the first wireframe rather than a late gate, and decisions are backed by usability testing and analytics instead of taste.
I've led design from both sides of the table. At Wunderman Thompson Health I managed a UX team of eight across multiyear pharma engagements, including Pfizer brand launches for Xeljanz and Ibrance, on properties serving 5M+ annual users. At EngagedMD I was the first designer, built the design function from nothing, hired and mentored the designers who followed, and took a HIPAA-regulated platform used by 400+ fertility clinics through a ground-up rebuild that launched as CareXP in 2024.
The through-line is design systems. I've built them solo and governed them across multiple client teams, because consistency at scale is an operations problem before it's an aesthetic one.
Today I run stereojam, working with pharma and biotech clients through Avalere Health, and with health practices and federal teams directly. Recent work includes the launch of guidingstars.com, a National Science Foundation application, and an ongoing redesign for Complete Concierge Care, a returning client.
I hold an active Top Secret clearance and a psychology degree that still shapes how I approach research. Some of the work is below; the rest is under NDA, and I'm happy to walk through it on a call.
Career aside, I also do photography, speak 3 languages, and travel a lot(opens in new tab).
